Staff Engineer - #1572

Location: Southern CA

Expertise in developing design requirements, generating design concepts, prototype builds, pre-clinical evaluations, and transferring to manufacturing. Work and coordinate closely with project team members and internal partners in Marketing, Regulatory, Clinical, Quality, Manufacturing and other departments to deliver project objectives. Conduct testing to verify that the design meets the engineering specifications. Work closely with manufacturing engineers to design and develop manufacturing processes for new products, product changes and enhancements, and related tooling and fixtures which are consistent with low defect level as well as low product cost. SKILLS:  Bachelor Degree in related engineering field such as mechanical engineering is required. Master degree is preferred. Staff Engineer requires a minimum of 6-8 years of experience. Requires a solid hands-on design proficiency using SolidWorks to design and document various concepts. Experience in Medical Devices (510K/PMA Products) desirable. Solid knowledge of plastics. Experience in catheter design (extrusions, braiding, bonding processes)is required. Experience in new product development with successful design from concept to commercialization is strongly preferred. Experience in one of the following areas are desirable: Cardiology related devices, balloons, rapid product development, hands-on prototyping, process development, design for manufacturing.
